SYMPHONY TOLLERS

Frequently Asked Questions
These are the questions we get most commonly. If there are other questions that you have about Symphony Tollers, Tollers in general, or dogs in general, please feel free to send us a message and we will do our best to answer you.
Do you have any puppies available?

The short answer is usually no. We are a small kennel and generally have one litter every 12-18 months. However, we are happy to send you a puppy questionnaire so that we can possibly match you with a pup when one is available. We. also work with other Toller breeders, and sometimes they have a litter with pups available when we do not. Generally, the other breeders we work with have very similar requirements for puppy buyers and do the same sort of testing for health and temperament that we do.
How long is your waiting list?

Wait times for a puppy could be anywhere between 3 months to 3 years. Again, we often work with other breeders that may have pups when we do not. We value the relationship with our puppy buyers and think of them as extended family. We never want to rush a placement as we find that the best chance for a long-term relationship is getting to know each other and our expectations.
How much are your puppies?

In 2022, the price range for Toller pups was roughly $2500-$4500. We generally fall somewhere in the middle of that range. We spend considerably more money on raising, training, showing, and medical care each year than we can ever recoup from selling pups. Each pup is given the same level of care, so there really is no difference in "pet" vs "show" pricing. Occasionally, we will place a show dog in a co-own home for a reduced cost with expectations that the owner will work with us to show and possibly breed that dog in the future.
Do I get to choose my puppy?

Generally, no. Because we have so few pups each year, and we strive to make the best match with each person, we review your questionnaire, talk with you, evaluate the pups to see which is a best fit, and make a match. We can sometimes take preference for male vs female into consideration, but no guarantee. If you have a need for a very particular dog we can work with you, but it may be a longer wait.
Do I get to meet the puppy's parents?

When we choose a sire for a litter, we evaluate body structure, movement, temperament, and genetic factors from health screenings to determine the best match to preserve the ideal Toller. The likelihood that we own both the ideal sire and dam is unlikely, so while you will probably meet the mother and maybe other related dogs, it is very possible that the father is in another part of the country. We will have pictures of the sire and links to his medical clearances.
What kind of support do you offer?

If you end up with a pup from Symphony Tollers, you will be considered part of our extended family forever. We love getting pictures, questions, updates and brags and return visits from people who want a "sibling" for their Toller. No question is silly, and we will work together to find answers to the most baffling ones. And, heaven forbid, you ever need to re-home your Toller, at any time, for any reason over its lifetime, we will take care of that too. No Symphony Toller will EVER end up in a shelter. They are all part of our family.
